HIST 237: The Story of World War II

World War II was perhaps the greatest story, as well as the greatest catastrophe, in human history. This course tells the epic story of the war through the words of American soldiers, sailors, and airmen, as well as nurses, war correspondents, and innocent civilians caught in the ruin and agony of the world’s first total war, a war fought without mercy or letup. Primary sources include letters and diaries from the front lines, war reportage, and novels and films made during and after the war. [SS, W] [W] Prof. Miller
