Gabby Tropp ’20 was a history and Spanish double major and Jewish studies minor at Lafayette. Her thesis “Man, Myth, and Legend: El Cid in the Expression of Spanish Nationalism,” which she wrote in the history department, won the departmental prize that year. In the two years following her graduation, she worked for a Jewish non-profit organization in the Deep South. She is currently a rabbinical student at Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC), expecting to be ordained in 2028. Gabby is excited and honored to be a T’ruah Israel Fellow for her first year in Jerusalem and a Weitzman-JDC Fellow throughout her time at HUC.
