Is the United States an Imperialist Power? To answer this question, we will examine American nation-building efforts in the Philippine Islands (1899-1953), Vietnam (1950-1975) and Iraq (2003- ). Course members will analyze and discuss scholarly works and primary sources, as well as theoretical works that illuminate connections and points of comparison.
